An OpenAI Select Partner is a company OpenAI has admitted to the OpenAI Partner Network, its global program for businesses that build, sell and deliver AI solutions with OpenAI. For Trained Advisor, it puts OpenAI’s partner resources, enablement and support behind the 12 AI systems we already run for financial advisors.
Today we announced that Trained Advisor has been named an OpenAI Select Partner. The official announcement carries the formal details.
This article is the plain-English version. What the designation is, what earned it, why we use more than one AI model, and what it changes for the advisors we work with.
What Is An OpenAI Select Partner?
The OpenAI Partner Network is OpenAI’s global program for companies that build, sell and deliver AI solutions with OpenAI. Partners get resources, enablement and support to help organizations adopt OpenAI’s models and products and turn them into real results.
Select Partner is Trained Advisor’s status within that network.
In practical terms, it gives our team a closer working line to OpenAI while we build AI into the daily work of financial advisors and insurance professionals.
What Does Select Partner Status Not Mean?
Precision matters with a designation like this, so here are the limits.
- Trained Advisor is an independent company. We don’t work for OpenAI.
- OpenAI doesn’t run or see your account because of this designation.
- It isn’t an endorsement of any Trained Advisor product.
- We aren’t a reseller or an exclusive partner.
We’re part of OpenAI’s partner network, with access to what that network provides.
Why Did Trained Advisor Join The OpenAI Partner Network?
We were already building on OpenAI’s models. The notetaker that turns advisor meetings into follow-up tasks runs on them. So do the systems that match prospect records and estimate home values on book requests, the one that logs our own sales calls, and the steps that set up every new client account.
When AI sits inside the daily workflow of a financial professional, the support behind it matters. The partner program gives us that support directly from the company that builds the models.
What AI Has Trained Advisor Actually Built?
Joining meant documenting our AI work, so we audited it. We set a strict rule before counting anything.
A system counts only if an AI model runs inside a live workflow, on real work, and someone uses what it produces. Software written with AI help didn’t count. Demos didn’t count. Prototypes didn’t count.
We found 16 candidates. Twelve passed.
Six of them work directly for advisors:
- Meeting intelligence. A notetaker joins the advisor’s booked call. Afterward, the client record holds a summary and the follow-ups the advisor committed to.
- Prospect research before the first call. When someone requests an advisor’s book, a research brief on that person reaches the advisor within minutes.
- Identity matching and home-value estimates. Book-request leads get matched to the right person, with an estimated home value added to the record.
- Client newsletters. Market research and a draft newsletter in the advisor’s own voice, every two weeks.
- Advisor Practice Range. A live voice roleplay where advisors handle objections from an AI prospect, then get scored on the conversation.
- Content Matrix. A content-planning tool that turns an advisor’s industry and three themes into 195 content ideas.
The other six run Trained Advisor itself: call logging and team tasks from our own calls, the AI steps inside client onboarding, content production, daily pipeline briefings, a daily agent that tracks changes to our platform, and an overnight agent that prepares the morning’s work.
Why Does Trained Advisor Use More Than One AI Model?
We pick the model that fits each job.
OpenAI models handle structured work like pulling follow-up tasks out of a meeting, matching records and reading images. Claude handles long-form research and writing in an advisor’s voice. Perplexity handles live web research. ElevenLabs handles real-time voice for the Practice Range.
Several of the 12 systems run on OpenAI, and others run on those providers. You should know what’s running in your business, so we say so plainly.
Why Does Practical AI Matter For Financial Advisors?
Every advisor we work with is short on the same thing: time for the conversations that grow the practice.
The work around those conversations is what eats the week. You research the prospect, prep for the objection, write up the meeting and remember the follow-up. Most of it lands in the evening.
That work is where AI earns its keep. Today’s webinar came down to one line: AI does the homework. You have the conversation.
- Before the call: the research brief is already waiting.
- Before the objection: you’ve practiced it against an AI prospect.
- After the meeting: the notes and follow-ups are already in your CRM.
The conversation itself stays yours. We make the same case in AI For Financial Advisors: Fill Your Pipeline, Stay Human.
How Does Trained Advisor Decide What Counts As Production AI?
We judge AI by whether it runs every day on real work. That’s the same rule we used for the audit, and it’s why the count is 12 out of 16.
We also design every system around the advisor. The systems prepare, remind, draft and record. The advisor makes the call, runs the meeting and owns the relationship. That line between what software should do and what an advisor should do is the one we drew in Financial Advisor Marketing Automation: The AI Dividing Line.
What Comes Next For Advisor Nexus?
As a Select Partner, we plan to expand OpenAI-powered capabilities throughout Advisor Nexus, invest in technical enablement and practitioner certifications for our team, and keep scaling production AI for financial professionals.
The direction stays the same: more of the homework done for you before and after each conversation.
What Changes If You Already Work With Trained Advisor?
The AI inside your Advisor Nexus account is built by a team inside OpenAI’s partner network, with access to its resources as we improve it.
How your account runs today stays the same. Over the coming months, expect more of the research, prep and follow-up around each conversation to move off your plate. It will run alongside the outreach and automated nurture already working for you.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the OpenAI Partner Network? It’s OpenAI’s global program for companies that build, sell and deliver AI solutions with OpenAI. Members get resources, enablement and support to help organizations adopt OpenAI’s models and products. Trained Advisor holds Select Partner status within the network, as of its announcement on October 1, 2026.
Does OpenAI endorse Trained Advisor’s products? No. Select Partner status recognizes membership in OpenAI’s partner network and gives access to its resources. It isn’t a product endorsement, and Trained Advisor isn’t a reseller or an exclusive partner. Trained Advisor remains an independent company serving financial advisors and insurance professionals.
Do all of Trained Advisor’s AI systems use OpenAI? No. Several of the 12 production systems run on OpenAI models. Others run on Claude, Perplexity or ElevenLabs, chosen for the specific job, such as live web research or real-time voice. Trained Advisor picks the model that fits each task.
Does AI talk to my clients or prospects for me? The systems prepare, draft, summarize and remind. The advisor has the conversation. Research lands before the call, practice happens before the objection, and notes and follow-ups appear after the meeting, so the relationship and every decision stay with the advisor.
