Tyson Bailey
He built Trained Advisor on a simple observation: financial advisors are exceptional at managing money, and almost none of them were ever taught how to market themselves.
Tyson built Trained Advisor from a simple insight: financial advisors are exceptional at managing money, but most of them were never taught how to market themselves. After years working at the intersection of advanced financial planning and digital marketing, from Penn Mutual to Camas Consulting, he saw the same pattern over and over — brilliant advisors struggling to find clients while their less-talented competitors with better marketing ate their lunch.
So he built the system that fixes that. Trained Advisor's Attract-Nurture-Convert methodology has helped advisors generate millions in commissions, including clients worth $12M and $40M. His approach isn't a LinkedIn spam machine. It's targeted, value-driven, and built specifically for the compliance requirements of financial services.
When he's not coaching advisors, he's at home with his wife and three kids.
The Problem He Set Out to Fix
Brilliant advisors struggling to find clients, while their less-talented competitors with better marketing ate their lunch.
Advisors are trained relentlessly on product, planning and compliance, and almost never on demand. The result is a profession full of people who are excellent at the job and dependent on referrals to get the chance to do it — which caps the practice at the size of somebody else's goodwill.
Trained Advisor exists to remove that dependency. The Attract-Nurture-Convert methodology is built for how financial services actually works: regulated, relationship-led, and long-cycle. It is not a volume play dressed up as strategy.

How He Thinks About Marketing
Four ideas he comes back to constantly, in his own words.
The best messaging strategy isn't about selling — it's about serving.
Sell like a human, because it is one on the other end. Tyson's line on this is that good marketing models normal, healthy human relationships. Whether the channel is a direct message or an email, it is still person to person, so the copy should sound like it.
Most advisor outreach fails in one of two identical ways. Either it opens as a straight pitch, which only lands on someone already in the market, or it opens as a networking request, which costs a busy prospect time before either party knows whether there is a fit. His alternative is to lead with something genuinely useful, get the prospect off LinkedIn, and engineer the path to a conversation instead of hoping to catch them at the right moment.
Prove the process by hand before automating it. He is blunt about advisors derailing themselves by optimising a funnel nobody has tested: work out the actual goal, reverse-engineer the steps to it, run it manually first, and only bring AI and automation in once real data says the thing works. Imperfect action beats perfect inaction.
And the finding that surprises rooms: across Trained Advisor's campaigns, the highest-converting offer sent through LinkedIn messaging is a printed book.

He is the voice behind Trained Advisor's content — writing the emails, scripts and strategies that advisors use to close high-net-worth clients — and he is a published author: he and his business partner wrote and published Predictable Prospecting.
